About Me

I am Op. Dr. Sedat Cömert. I work in the field of obstetrics and gynecology in Ankara.My goal is to create a safe and clear roadmap for each of my patients through evidence-based medicine, attentive listening, and open communication.

Education and Professional Experience

I completed my medical education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1990. I then received my residency training in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine between 1991 and 1996. I served as the Perinatology Supervisor at Özel Ankara Sevgi Hospital between 1996–1999, and as Chief Assistant in the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Departments at Dr. Zekai Tahir Burak Training and Research Hospital between 2000–2006. From 2007 to 2021, I worked as the Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology / IVF Department at Özel Ankara Güven Hospital. Since then (with approximately 29 years of specialty experience), I have been providing care to my patients in both clinic and hospital settings.

Clinical Interests

My areas of clinical interest include all types of laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery, colposcopy and HPV-related cervical conditions, genital warts, pregnancy follow-up and delivery, monitoring high-risk pregnancies, IVF treatments, and infertility assessment. Additionally, reproductive endocrinology, menopause, and related conditions are among my special interests. When necessary, I perform advanced prenatal diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), and cordocentesis with experience. In every situation, I plan treatment with the principle of “minimal intervention, maximum safety,” balancing evidence-based medical guidelines with my patient’s lifestyle and expectations.

My Treatment Approach

We make decisions together—clearly and in a way that is easy to understand. I avoid unnecessary interventions and plan every step by carefully considering the risk-benefit balance. During the consultation, I first listen to you and your expectations, then share the available options with their advantages and disadvantages. From childbirth to surgery, family planning to screening, I remain accessible and transparent throughout the entire process.
